This Technical Description assignment was meant to introduce us to a common genre in technical communications: the technical description. When you get into the real world, you will be expected to write documents for different audiences. I decided it would be interesting and fun to do my technical description on the stages of pregnancy. I made my focus of each stage on the mother and what was happening to her body and how she would be feeling. I found a website that broke down each trimester and gave me all the symptoms the expecting mother could be experiencing at that time. I took that information from the website and reworded and paraphrased as much as possible and created my original document. My original document was created with word and was pretty basic with no images. After I received it back with a grade and suggestions, I made a few changes and then transformed it into a multimedia document using Storify. My grade on my pre-writing was 93.8 % A and on the final Storify assignment my grade was a 90% A. According to the teacher my strengths on the final Storify assignment were that it was well detailed and organized, had fabulous graphics, and included bullet points. I lost a few points for not using any videos and for not introducing my graphics and explaining their purpose, so I guess those would be my weaknesses. The hardest part of the assignment was getting started and deciding what format to pick; once I did that the rest kind of fell into place. If I had to do this assignment again, I would change add a video or two and make sure I introduced and explained all my graphics either within the text or in a separate text box.
