This Report assignment was meant to give us practice and teach us proper technique and format for writing a long document such as an activity report or an analytical report. These documents are an important genre in the workplace. Learning how to write and present these reports is a skill that will help you succeed in your future career. I chose to use the prompt on Cancer Research, basically I was pretending to be a biochemist employed by a research foundation. My job was to write a feasibility report to my CEO determining whether or not the company should invest in research being done using radio waves to treat cancer patients. I started with a topic proposal in memo form. Then from there I did research and created an annotated bibliography. After summarizing my research, I used the guided writing questions to organize my ideas.  Lastly using all the above pieces, I put together my feasibility report. My grade was a 90 % on my topic proposal, a 100% on my annotated bibliography, a 100% on my guided writing questions, and a 89.6% on the final report. According to the teacher my strengths o the final report were that it contained all of the required elements, each paragraph has thoughtful supporting detail sentences that develop the main idea, good organizational structure and development of ideas, an engaging conclusion, good layout and design, and required sources with proper citing. I lost a few points for my purpose statement not being engaging, my introduction not be engaging and a few errors in mechanics and usage, so I guess these would be my weaknesses. The hardest part of the assignment for me was piecing everything together and making it flow for my final report. If I had to do this assignment again, I would write a more engaging introduction and purpose statement, and run my final through grammarly before turning it in.
