After reading all of the Chapters and coming through the entire course, Sofie believes that there are so many aspects that are important in her future goals as management. There is one aspect that sticks out above the rest. Decision-making is extremely important as a manager. Managers are going to be faced with all kinds of problems in their business, and it is important to choose the right solution out of a handful of different solutions (Kinicki & Fugate, 2012). Each solution is going to have its own outcome, and they can sometimes make or break a company.

Problem solving is not an easy task, and it can sometimes take some creativity to come up with a solution. Creatively thinking of a solution requires both intelligence and imagination to arrive at the correct outcome a manager is looking for (Kinicki & Fugate, 2012). The manager thinking of the solution has to be able to know enough about the business in order to come up with a solution. Managers can also come to a better solution by going back and looking at research from similar problems (Kinicki & Fugate, 2012).

When making decisions it is important that managers are ethical about their decisions (Mele, 2010). Having some sort of knowledge about the company or intelligence greatly helps out in making an ethical decision (Mele, 2010). If an employee were caught being rude to customers a manager would have to make the best ethical decision. Two solutions to the problem would be that the manager could either fire the employee or they could go back and train the employee on customer service. It is hard to make the right decision, especially when there could be more than one right decision.
