Forty Creek Distillery as been around since 1992, and it is located in Grimsby, Ontario (Forty Whiskey Creek, 2015). The maker, John Hall, founded this distillery because of his passion for alcohol and crafting new spirits (Forty Whiskey Creek, 2015). Forty Creek Distillery sells many different types of alcoholic beverages. They have tastings and even show customers how they select their grains for the different types of whiskeys and the process these grains go through (Forty Whiskey Creek, 2015).

A business analyst is someone who comes into an organization or a company and helps to identify solutions and promote strategies that can be used by that company to change the company for the better (IIBA, 2015). They are there to help promote the right growth for the company and to help the company plan strategically. If I were a business analyst for Forty Creek Distillery I would evaluate the quantity of the different types of liquor that the company sells first. The distillery focuses on making and selling whiskey, but this makes them very limited as to what they can sell (Forty Whiskey Creek, 2015). By broadening the amount of liquors that the company sells they might be able to draw more customers to them and make more of a profit (IIBA, 2015). I would also want to focus composing a plan that would allow the company to expand beyond Canada (IIBA, 2015). The stores were the company sells their liquor are mainly focused in Canada, and selling multiple types of alcohols in different stores in the United States would help the company expand further in the future.

Michelle, I would put a lot of research into the other companies that are out there and see what how these other companies attract their customers. A good way to start out small is to make the website more internationally friendly. Adding slogans, metaphors, and universal images could help make the website more attractive to international customers (Klein, 2009). Adding multilingual options to the website would help customers who read and speak a different language understand the website content a little better (Klein, 2009). This would make their shopping experience more engaging and easier.

Telina, in order to build up a company or even just build up a company’s future someone has to come in and make sense of the company’s data. Not every company is good at analyzing themselves. When researching results, Brain and Data Company concluded that only four percent of companies were good at figuring out where their problems were and how to fix them (Wegener & Sinha, 2013). These companies did not use analytics. The companies that did use analytics were able to make better and faster decisions (Wegener & Sinha, 2013).
